WANDA JERRY HOLLAND BROOKE
September 25, 1922 - March 17, 2013
Services wil be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 20 at the First United Methodist Church of Happy with Rev. Tom Stribling, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Happy Cemetery. She will be in state at Happy's Memorial Chapel in Happy.
Wanda Jerry Holland Brooke was born September 25, 1922 in Tulia, Texas to James and Lena Stapp Ponder. She went to Happy High School and was a member of the Uncle Sam Band. After graduating she attended Hardin Simmons University. She was married to Evans Holland and then later on married Courtney Brooke. They both preceded her in death.
Wanda was a member of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society and through the years just about any and every club that she could be apart of.
She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling with the ladies, shopping, making candy, and tying blankets.
She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren most of all. She truly loved watching each of her grand kids play sports, have dance recitals, and cheerleading.
Survivors include her daughter, Cherie Holland, of Canyon; three granddaughters, Shawna Ives and husband, Michael, of Canyon, Chandy Evans and husband, Tyler, of Happy, J.J. Moore and husband, Justin, of Shallowater; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and step-children: Guy Brooke and wife, Delores, of Canyon, Elaine Pearson and husband, Brian, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Godfrey Brooke and wife, Diane, of Colorado Springs, CO.
The family suggests that memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 114 N. Floyd Avenue, Happy, TX 79042.
